Here is another approach to the remaking a book into an objet d’art. The Arnprior Library open it’s doors on a Sunday afternoon before Christmas to encourage a number of artists to use materials, found objects and books to construct a unique creation.
This book my objet d’art began with a book by David Donachie titled The Admirals Game, a fiction of historical naval history of the eighteenth and nineteenth centurie.
This book series starts in 1793 at the beginning of the French Revolutionary Wars: Campaigns of 1793 and follows the son of a radical taken by a press gang and becoming an officer in the British navy. This series of books follows his sea bound exploits and battles.
I love reading this type of historical so gravitated to this book and decided to make into an objet d’art that reflected the theme of the book. I think my creation was quite successful.
